Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Behavioral and Experimental Finance
Welcome! I am the UBS Foundation Assistant Professor of the Behavioral Economics of Financial Markets at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich.
One strand of my research studies how to help people make good financial decisions. A second strand focuses on policies for the exchange of goods about which people have strong ethical intuitions, such as living organ donation or medical trial participation. A third strand helps build foundational knowledge about how people think and decide, especially about causal mechanisms (cognitive economics).
My research uses a combination of controlled experiments and economic theory. In 2022, I received a Starting Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation to support my research on positive welfare economics.
My work has been featured in the popular press, including the Washington Post, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, NPR, Freakonomics Radio, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
